SGC Security Services commences new healthcare partnership

SGC Security Services has announced the start of a new partnership with University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS).

As of 1 July 2026, SGC is responsible for delivering security services across the Trust’s hospital sites. The partnership brings together the Trust’s longstanding commitment to the safety and wellbeing of patients, visitors and staff with SGC’s experience of working in complex healthcare environments.

SGC will work closely with UHS, one of the UK’s leading teaching hospitals, to maintain high standards of security and safeguarding, helping to support the smooth operation of hospital services and a positive experience across the Trust.

SGC says it is committed to supporting training, professional development, safeguarding responsibilities and wellbeing initiatives, ensuring officers are equipped, confident and supported in their roles. This includes maintaining awareness of safeguarding procedures, recognising and responding to concerns, and helping to create a safe environment.

Simon Anderson, Commercial Director at SGC Security Services, commented: “This partnership is built on a shared commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high standards in a complex and fast-paced healthcare environment. We understand the unique challenges that NHS organisations face, and our focus is on working in true partnership with the Trust to strengthen safety, security and safeguarding, while supporting the people who deliver these services every day.”

Bertie Young, Associate Director of Facilities at UHS, said: “We are pleased to welcome SGC Security Services as our new security partner and look forward to working together to maintain safe, secure and welcoming hospital environments.

“Security teams play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operation of our services, helping our hospitals operate effectively around the clock while providing reassurance to patients, visitors and staff.”
