Bennett Hay secures Gherkin deal

The boutique hospitality operator has been awarded a three-year contract to supply reception services at The Gherkin at 30 St Mary Axe.

Designed by Foster + Partners, the building is one of the most recognisable silhouettes in 21st century architecture. The Gherkin, London’s pioneering ecological tall building, embodies sustainability, wellbeing, and innovation.

As the home of many high-profile organisations, The Gherkin chose Bennett Hay to manage its reception services due to the company’s understanding of high-profile clients, a shared outlook on ESG and a reputation for creating a unique workplace experience underwritten by high-end service levels.

Bennett Hay’s team of five receptionists will provide a warm and efficient welcome and helpdesk services for the building’s tenants and its destination restaurant that sits atop the building. The Gherkin provides 24/7 services for its clients along with a curated, community-driven programme of events and activations to engage the building’s different tenants and varying workplace values.

Zoë Watts, Bennett Hay’s MD, said of the contract award: “The Gherkin is one of the most recognisable buildings in the world and equally a landmark win for Bennett Hay. We are excited to be working with their team and bringing our engaging customer experience and ESG values to this stunning location.”

Clare Jackman, Operations Director for JSRE 30 St Mary Axe Management Ltd said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Bennett Hay, who throughout the tender process demonstrated their understanding of our specific needs, their commitment to the training and development of the reception team and the quality and experience of their head office support. The Gherkin is an exceptionally busy building and we’re confident of Bennett Hay’s ability to uphold our five-star service and operational standards.”

Given your role as an FM Professional, we would love to hear your views, challenges & experiences, and opinions on drainage & plumbing within the workplace.

The survey will take just five minutes to complete and offers the chance to win an Amazon Gift Card Worth £100.
