EatFirst acquires Compass’ technology food business Feedr

Berlin-based EatFirst, a corporate food ordering platform, has acquired Compass Group UK & Ireland’s London-based technology food business, Feedr, for an undisclosed amount.

Whilst EatFirst takes ownership of the platform, Compass will remain a partner in the UK market. The combined businesses will offer a “one-of-a-kind office food solution” by pairing EatFirst’s catering ordering platform with Feedr’s market-leading Cloud Canteen product. EatFirst plans to expand the Feedr offering to its existing customers across Europe and Australia.

Adrian Frenzel, Founder of EatFirst commented: “We are thrilled to have acquired Feedr! We have always admired the company for the delight they create at their customers’ offices and its strong technological foundations. We are looking forward to offering our joint UK customer base an even larger and more refined service. In addition, we will expand Feedr’s offer to our European markets, where we see great potential for growth. It’s also been great to further strengthen our relationship with Compass.”

Feedr was founded in 2016 in London with a vision to use cutting edge technology to transform office catering in London and make healthy food available to all, particularly in those locations where kitchens are not available.

Feedr was acquired by Compass in March 2020 as it expanded its use of different technologies to provide food services to its customers whether on site in the workplace or at home. Compass and Feedr will continue their exclusive partnership in the UK, enabling it to provide a food offer to those clients where kitchen facilities are not available. Feedr will also continue to provide its services to its existing clients and suppliers.

In parallel, Compass has secured a stake in EatFirst’s European business, which will further support the company’s ambition to expand its footprint in food tech services.

2023 FMJ and Grundon Recycling and Waste Management Survey

FMJ in conjunction with Grundon Waste Management is pleased to launch the 2023 waste management and recycling survey which examines the ways in which FMs approach their waste management responsibilities.

In this, the sixth year for the annual appraisal, we know there is a greater opportunity than ever for FMs to reappraise their waste and recycling operations and help their organisations meet the growing pressure to achieve ESG goals.

We want to learn how FMs have adapted to the legislative, economic and societal changes of the past year and how they plan to meet the latest waste and recycling targets.

In this survey we’ve posed a series of questions which include insights into FMs’ waste management strategy and targets, how they’re moving towards zero waste targets, and the importance of not just meeting compliance targets but also ESG goals.

The results of the 2023 survey will be published in FMJ magazine and form the basis of a white paper co-written by FMJ and the experts at Grundon on how to approach waste and recycling strategies.
