Since its inception in 2016, the partnership has also resulted in thousands of homes across the city being made warmer and more energy efficient, while generating significant levels of social value in the community and creating over 30 new apprenticeships for local people.

Paul Langford, Birmingham City Council’s Strategic Director for City Housing, said: “We are pleased to have awarded this contract to Equans. Our partnership with Equans has already delivered significant improvements to our housing stock, making homes warmer and more energy efficient for our tenants. The new contract will enable us to continue this work, ensuring our tenants receive a high-quality repairs and maintenance service that meets their needs.”

Paul Bingham, Regional Operations Director at Equans UK & Ireland, commented: “We’re delighted that the council has chosen to enter into this new contract, providing the opportunity for us to build on our existing successful partnership. Our aim during the contract period is to work with the council to make further improvements, so that we can continue to provide a first-class service to their housing residents.”
