The Government Property Agency (GPA) has appointed international property and construction consultancy, Gleeds, as a strategic partner to provide professional services for its Capital Programmes.
The new contract, which is for an initial four-year term, with up to three-year extension options covers project management and cost management services for the Government Hubs and Whitehall Campus Programmes as well as a variety of client funded projects. Gleeds will work collaboratively with the GPA to deliver projects that will drive economic growth throughout the UK, help transform the civil service, contribute to wider greening government commitments and add value through a smaller, better and greener public estate.
The contract was awarded following a comprehensive procurement process via the Crown Commercial Services Construction Professional Services framework.
A key element in the tender process was social value, with a focus on tackling economic inequality through the creation of employment, training and growth in all regions of the UK; and driving sustainability benefits through net zero interventions.
Clive Anderson, Director of Capital Projects at the Government Property Agency, said: “We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Gleeds as a key strategic partner. Gleeds will provide the GPA with industry-leading professional services support for up to seven years, enabling more efficient programme delivery and greater value for money across the most diverse and challenging real estate programmes in the UK.
“Gleeds’ appointment completes the trio of strategic partners we sought to bring the increased breadth and depth of capability the GPA requires to support delivery of the Government’s priorities of Levelling Up, Places for Growth and Net Zero. Gleeds’ capabilities complement those of our other recently appointed partners WSP and Tetra Tech.”
Graham Harle, CEO at Gleeds, said: “After a competitive procurement process, I’m thrilled that Gleeds’ experience and expertise have resulted in our appointment to the GPA’s Capital Programme.
“Like the GPA, Gleeds is committed to delivering a more efficient, equitable and sustainable public estate and we look forward to bringing the breadth of our knowledge and expertise to bear as our teams collaborate over the coming years.”
