New MD at Churchill’s environmental compliance division

Churchill Group has appointed John Riley as the new Managing Director of Churchill Environmental Services (CES).

Riley joins the soft services provider with over 30 years of experience within the public and private FM sector and business services management. His previous role was a seven-year stint as the Regional Director for the Ministry of Defence. Riley was responsible for a large portfolio of buildings across the UK. These were managed and maintained for the MoD at over 250 locations. He has experience in running the maintenance, operation, and improvements of all building requirements.

In his new role, Riley will be responsible for overseeing both CES and related environmental compliance operations within Churchill. CES is a nationwide service for environmental compliance, specialising in water and air hygiene services. The CES team ensures that organisations can manage their compliance whilst having a measurable positive effect on sustainability and their social impact, enabling them to achieve their objectives in these areas.

Speaking about his new appointment, Riley said: “I am thrilled to have joined the Churchill team. I have been familiar with Churchill for several years, and it is exciting to now be a part of a business on this growth-path. When the opportunity came up to look after the environmental compliance side of the business, it was an easy decision for me. I look forward to working closely with the team and aiding in the development of the business across the UK as we continue to expand our service offering.”

Metro Rod Drainage and Plumbing Survey

With the current economic crisis resulting in higher prices and more of a squeeze on resources, FMs need to ensure that they have robust building and maintenance services in place to control costs and reduce the need for emergency repairs. When it comes to drainage and plumbing there are also the challenges of dealing with extreme weather, from droughts to flooding, the need to meet stringent regulations and to avoid causing environmental damage.

UK drainage specialist, Metro Rod, has launched a survey which explores the main areas of interest for FMs in maintaining drainage and plumbing, including how they currently assess their supply chains to ensure they’re working with partners that meet the highest possible standards and provide value for money.

The results will be published online so that you can see how you compare to others within the sector.

The survey should take just 5-10 minutes of your time, and as a thank you, you will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky winner will be picked at random to receive a £100 Amazon voucher.
