OCS secures new deal with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

OCS Healthcare & Education has won a three-year contract to continue providing manned security and car parking services for York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The new contract award will see OCS continue to build and develop its partnership with the Trust, which began over 10 years ago, delivering services that utilise the latest technologies to display real time security guard activity, increasing security guard protection and operational efficiency.

OCS colleagues are also being encouraged to complete further studies to support them throughout their entire career with modules including mental health awareness, conflict resolution, suicide prevention and SIA training. This approach, says OCS, will enable a “multi-skilled and patient focussed team” that demonstrates behaviours and values aligned to both organisations.

Penny Gilyard, Director of Resources of YTHFM, commented: “We’re delighted to confirm OCS have retained the contract for car park and security services for another three years after a robust tender process. This will allow both organisations to build upon the existing relationship and continue to deliver the best patient experience based on kindness, openness and excellence in patient care.

With more than 1,000 beds across eight hospital sites, the Trust provides acute and specialist healthcare services for approximately 800,000 people living in and around York, North Yorkshire, North East Yorkshire and Ryedale.
