The national engineering services provider has appointed Alison Bettany to the new role of Procurement Director, to support the company’s growth plans.

An experienced supply chain and sustainability professional, Bettany will be responsible for leading the company’s procurement function and shaping the group supply chain strategy.

Currently a Fellow of the Chartered Institute in Purchasing and Supply (FCIPS) and a CIPS Mentor, Bettany is also the former Chair of the FM Supply Chain Sustainability School, which leads the industry in sustainable procurement.

Speaking about her appointment, Bettany said: “This is an exciting time to join the group. I’m looking forward to working with the team to build a sustainable value chain that puts the customer at the heart of what we do and makes a decisive difference in shaping our ESG footprint.”

Mark Orpin, COO at Edwin James Group commented: “As our group continues to grow it’s important that we have a procurement strategy and sustainable supply chain that can support our plans for the future and meet our customers’ needs. Alison’s appointment will strengthen our supplier relationship strategy, delivering on our ongoing drive for quality and innovation.”

The group recently announced the appointment of Rob Stephens to the newly created role of Executive Director responsible for group business development.

Metro Rod Drainage and Plumbing Survey

With the current economic crisis resulting in higher prices and more of a squeeze on resources, FMs need to ensure that they have robust building and maintenance services in place to control costs and reduce the need for emergency repairs. When it comes to drainage and plumbing there are also the challenges of dealing with extreme weather, from droughts to flooding, the need to meet stringent regulations and to avoid causing environmental damage.

UK drainage specialist, Metro Rod, has launched a survey which explores the main areas of interest for FMs in maintaining drainage and plumbing, including how they currently assess their supply chains to ensure they’re working with partners that meet the highest possible standards and provide value for money.

The results will be published online so that you can see how you compare to others within the sector.

The survey should take just 5-10 minutes of your time, and as a thank you, you will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky winner will be picked at random to receive a £100 Amazon voucher.
