UK-based gambling company, Rank Group, has appointed Cloudfm to help support its ESG goals and reduce carbon emissions across the business. The three-year contract will see Cloudfm support the Group’s 51 Grosvenor Casinos and 56 Mecca Bingo venues in the UK. Cloudfm will provide a full range of planned and reactive facilities management services and deploy its Mindsett PRISM energy management technology.Cloudfm will also deliver asset monitoring and data consultancy to help minimise energy consumption and maximise carbon reduction.Matt Austin, Group Property Director at Rank, said: “We set out some ambitious goals in our latest ESG report with the aim to invest in efficient and responsible operations to reduce our impact on the environment. Our new partnership with Cloudfm will help us accelerate our carbon reduction plans across our estate.“Cloudfm has developed some great technology that gives a granular view of energy use in real-time and a framework to use that information to change behaviours that benefit the environment.”The Cloudfm Mindsett PRISM smart box uses patent-pending technology to monitor buildings and mechanical assets.  It takes energy monitoring and insight to a new level using multi-dimensional harmonics to report energy consumption and predict failure long before it happens.Extensive trials in the hospitality industry and NHS showed that when combined with behavioural science, Cloudfm’s technology reduces energy consumption by at least 20 per cent, and the joint Rank and Cloudfm management team anticipate reaching similar targets.Jeff Dewing, CEO of Cloudfm, said: “Rank has ambitious sustainability goals, and we look forward to a close working partnership to accelerate the journey toward net zero. Our team will deploy some of the most advanced technology in the market alongside a national network of skilled engineers to maximise operational efficiency, deliver a great customer experience and reduce carbon emissions.”

Metro Rod Drainage and Plumbing Survey

With the current economic crisis resulting in higher prices and more of a squeeze on resources, FMs need to ensure that they have robust building and maintenance services in place to control costs and reduce the need for emergency repairs. When it comes to drainage and plumbing there are also the challenges of dealing with extreme weather, from droughts to flooding, the need to meet stringent regulations and to avoid causing environmental damage.

UK drainage specialist, Metro Rod, has launched a survey which explores the main areas of interest for FMs in maintaining drainage and plumbing, including how they currently assess their supply chains to ensure they’re working with partners that meet the highest possible standards and provide value for money.

The results will be published online so that you can see how you compare to others within the sector.

The survey should take just 5-10 minutes of your time, and as a thank you, you will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky winner will be picked at random to receive a £100 Amazon voucher.
