Town & Country Housing and Fortem join forces to create repairs service JV

Town & Country Housing and specialist property services company Fortem have created an innovative joint venture (JV) company to deliver a repairs service to 8,600 homes across Kent and Sussex.

The JV company, called TCH Repairs Ltd., is responsible for responsive repairs and void maintenance. The company has a 12-year contract, extendable by way of three further periods of five years to a total contract term of 27 years, worth £189 million.

Fortem will be investing significantly in systems and technology to ensure an efficient, high-quality service is delivered for Town & Country Housing’s residents. These new technologies will provide added benefits, such as keeping residents informed about work in their homes, better diagnosis of repairs and a reduction in wasted time through more efficient management of appointments.

Residents will begin to see changes to their repairs service from 1 November with the contract coming into full effect in the new year.

Bob Heapy, Town & Country Housing’s Chief Executive, said: “Town & Country Housing is committed to delivering quality homes, building communities and improving lives, and our repairs service plays a vital role in helping us to do that.

“We’re excited to be working with Fortem on this new venture, and it’s been great to see the level of service, commitment and passion that Fortem is bringing to TCH Repairs. Working together, we’ll be able to ensure that Town & Country’s residents can continue to live happily and safely in their homes.”

Fortem’s Chief Executive Mike Hart added: “We are delighted to have formed this joint venture with Town & Country Housing to ensure a best-in-class service tailored to the needs of residents.

“We’re investing time and resource into this joint venture to ensure our teams are well equipped to deliver the best possible experience. Not only do we have a commitment to high quality service, but we also have plans in place to invest back into communities, creating longevity through the TCH Repairs brand. With our resident first approach, we are committed to customer safety, care and communication.”
