Triple win for Novus in the healthcare sector

Novus Property Solutions has expanded its portfolio within the healthcare sector, having been awarded a series of hospital-based contracts across the North West and Midlands.

The family-owned, national maintenance and compliance contractor has vast experience of working in live healthcare environments, and Novus’ presence in the sector has played a vital role in the ongoing success of its ambitious five-year growth strategy.

Further expanding its presence in the North West, Novus recently completed an external works contract with Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest children’s hospitals in Europe.

Novus says it was selected as main contractor for the project due to its “reputation for completing this type of work in a timely, cost-effective and high-quality manner, while also keeping disruption for patients, staff and visitors to a minimum”. Works included the excavation and installation of new drainage connections, as well as the integration of new mechanical and electrical systems over a one-month period.

Also in the North West, Novus has secured a significant internal refurbishment contract for Lancashire Teaching Hospital in Preston. The deal was awarded through the RISE framework, and will see Novus complete a series of refurbishment works across nine site buildings.

Novus was also successful in its tender for internal refurbishment works at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. This contract comprises two phases, including a 30-week full refurbishment of the on-site robot pharmacy which has now been completed.

Commenting on the contractor’s recent successes across the healthcare sector, Novus Property Solutions’ Head of Operations, Chris Murphy, said: “We’re proud to have been awarded this latest series of prestigious contracts across the healthcare sector thanks to our reputation for producing quality results under the unique challenges of working in live hospital environments.

“The healthcare sector is an important workstream for Novus’ growth ambitions, so we’re delighted to have ended 2022 in such a positive way. We’re looking forward to continuing to build on this success in 2023 and beyond.”

2023 FMJ and Grundon Recycling and Waste Management Survey

FMJ in conjunction with Grundon Waste Management is pleased to launch the 2023 waste management and recycling survey which examines the ways in which FMs approach their waste management responsibilities.

In this, the sixth year for the annual appraisal, we know there is a greater opportunity than ever for FMs to reappraise their waste and recycling operations and help their organisations meet the growing pressure to achieve ESG goals.

We want to learn how FMs have adapted to the legislative, economic and societal changes of the past year and how they plan to meet the latest waste and recycling targets.

In this survey we’ve posed a series of questions which include insights into FMs’ waste management strategy and targets, how they’re moving towards zero waste targets, and the importance of not just meeting compliance targets but also ESG goals.

The results of the 2023 survey will be published in FMJ magazine and form the basis of a white paper co-written by FMJ and the experts at Grundon on how to approach waste and recycling strategies.
