VINCI awarded FM deal with the British Red Cross

VINCI Facilities has secured a one-year interim facilities management contract with the British Red Cross.

The contract, which commenced last month, sees VINCI Facilities responsible for facilities management across the whole British Red Cross estate, managing over 460 shops and offices across the country.

The agreement has a large scope of works including planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and managing the helpdesk.

VINCI Facilities was awarded the contract following a condensed tender process. VINCI Facilities currently works with a number of clients within the retail sector such as: Currys, CRUK & Smyths. This appointment allows VINCI Facilities to expand its presence within the retail sector and broaden its expertise across the British Red Cross’ diverse non-retail portfolio.

VINCI’s Paul Cottam, Divisional Director, Facilities Management said: “This new contract is a reflection of our experience in the Retail Sector and the work is a chance to demonstrate our expertise in hard FM and our team’s commitment to making a difference to the community we serve. We very much look forward to this partnership with the British Red Cross.”

Andy Martin, British Red Cross Head of Property, commented: “For the vast majority of people our retail premises are our literal shop front and it’s hugely important they’re in the right hands. Charity shops are the backbone of the British Red Cross. They are how much of the public encounters us and they host so many of our wonderful volunteers. We’re pleased to put our trust in VINCI Facilities to take care of our precious charity shops.

“We’re delighted to award VINCI Facilities the contract to manage our UK estate. Thanks to the important work we do in emergency response, refugee support and independent living across the UK, we have a large and complex estate to look after. VINCI Facilities’ record working with organisations like CRUK gives us confidence they’re the right people to do the job.”

Metro Rod Drainage and Plumbing Survey

Planned, proactive maintenance is a keystone of every FM strategy. However, with current cost constraints, there are many demands on Facilities Managers’ maintenance budgets. When it comes to drainage and plumbing, however, the expense of repairing blockages or dealing with flooding could vastly exceed the cost of preventative maintenance.

Given your role as an FM Professional, we would love to hear your views, challenges & experiences, and opinions on drainage & plumbing within the workplace.

The survey will take just five minutes to complete and offers the chance to win an Amazon Gift Card Worth £100.
