Bennett Hay strengthens senior management team

Carly Hicks has been appointed to the role of Operations Manager at Bennett Hay. The appointment strengthens the London-based independent caterer’s senior management team as the business looks forward to a busy and ambitious year.

Hicks joins Bennett Hay after 10 years with Vacherin, including four years as Operations Manager. CIPD qualified, she brings broad operational experience across multi-site contracts, with a strong focus on people, team development and long-term client relationships.

This appointment brings the operations team to five Operations Managers. The structure ensures each oversees no more than eight clients, allowing Bennett Hay to stay close to its sites, build meaningful partnerships and give teams the freedom to deliver hospitality that feels personal and adventurous.

The appointment comes during a strong period for the company. In the current financial year, Bennett Hay has achieved 100 per cent client retention. In 2025, it was recognised at the Foodservice Cateys, winning Boutique Caterer of the Year and the People and Training Award.

Claire Huish, Director of HR & Operations, said of the appointment: “Carly has a strong track record and a leadership style that fits us well. Strengthening the operations team means we can stay focused on our people, our clients and delivering consistently excellent hospitality.”

Commenting on her move, Hicks said: “I am thrilled to be joining Bennett Hay. As an independent business, it offers a more personal way of working, with closer relationships with clients and teams and the autonomy to make decisions that genuinely make a difference. That really stood out to me. There is care, ambition and fun in the culture, and I am looking forward to being part of what comes next.”
