Apleona bolsters UK market position with acquisition

Apleona, a leading European integrated FM company based in Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt (Main), has acquired technical facilities management firm, JCW Group Limited (JCW).

Based in Royston, Cambridgeshire, JCW offers a full range of self-delivered hard services through its team of over 250 employees, the majority of whom are qualified technicians. Although JCW was founded in its current legal form in 2014, it has a rich history in hard services dating back to 1903. It has a strong presence over the UK with six operating offices. JCW’s customer focus is on the retail, education, commercial, leisure and public sectors.

Apleona COO Michael Engel, responsible for Apleona’s international business and major clients with multi-country integrated mandates, commented: “The two companies form a powerful platform for integrated facilities management. Their business models, regional footprints, and client portfolios are complementary, ensuring strong organic growth with existing and new Apleona clients in the UK and Europe.”

Jacqui Paice, Managing Director of Apleona UK, stated: “We are thrilled to welcome JCW to Apleona UK. The acquisition of this self-delivering technical maintenance specialist complements Apleona’s technical profile in the UK perfectly. We will be utilising our experience and expertise gained with the successful integration of CTS, to ensure a smooth transition.”

Kurt Hedgley, Managing Director of JCW added: “This is an exciting time for us all at JCW. Together we will have the ability to further enhance our service delivery and expand our client portfolio, ensuring strong organic growth. We are enthusiastic to join the Apleona family and begin working in synergy.”

The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transaction which closed on 1 September 2023.
