Aramark serves up 46,000 meals to support coronation of King Charles III

Over 600 Aramark employees from across the UK  supported over 10,000 military and service personnel throughout the coronation weekend, providing and executing services from food and beverages to cobbling and tailoring.

Aramark’s Side by Side teams prepared and delivered 30,000 meals and 55,000 hydration packs to military personnel. Aramark also provided 16,000 enhanced packed meals for military personnel as they began rehearsals for the coronation from 2 May, as well as eight coffee carts located around central London. Aramark teams also worked through the night to ensure food and drink were available during overnight rehearsals in preparation for the momentous occasion.

To ensure each aspect of the coronation ran seamlessly, Aramark worked closely with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) UK to support the MoD’s official duties in preparation for the weekend’s events. Aramark’s services began eight weeks ahead of the event, with teams supporting the King’s Troops at Regents Park, which was used as a forward-mounted base.

The Aramark team worked tirelessly across 15 locations in London and the Southeast, including Hyde Park, Westminster Chapel, Regents Park, RAF Northolt, Buckingham Palace, St James Palace and Whitehall HQ.

In addition, Aramark supported military personnel with tailoring and cobbling support, equine management, cleaning and laundry services, retail and fully equipped marquees.

Following King Charles III’s coronation, Glyn Ingram, Defence & Judicial Sector Director at Aramark UK, said: “I would like to thank our Side by Side teams who worked tirelessly throughout the course of King Charles III’s coronation, always acting with dignity and professionalism.

“It was a huge privilege to provide such an essential and important service for our military partners, and I know all members of our team were very proud to be able to play their part during such a historic event.”
