Atlas Retail has won a new contract, worth circa £1.5 million, for the supply of cleaning and security services at The Meadows Shopping centre, in the heart of Chelmsford.
The Meadows Shopping Centre has a strong mix of retailers including popular high street stores as well as independent shops and eateries. It offers 176,00 sq ft of retail space and a 500-space multi-storey parking area.
The centre is also a community hub displaying murals and artwork, with spaces to meet family and friends including an eight-screen cinema. It attracts around 2.9 million visitors per year.
The contract was awarded to Atlas Retail by property and asset management firm Estama who manage the centre. Atlas Retail states it secured the contract win based on its ability to provide superior contract management support and its use of the innovative Track Force system which offers the latest in reporting and data capture. Atlas Retail says it will also invest significantly in additional staff training.
Alistair Clayton, Joint Managing Director Atlas Retail commented: “We are delighted to have been awarded this new contract for The Meadows. We have a longstanding presence in the region and The Meadows is a noteworthy addition to our services portfolio. We look forward to providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment that ensures all visitors an enhanced customer experience.”
Sue Patel, General Manager at The Meadows said: “We pride ourselves in providing a memorable experience for all our visitors. It is important for us to have the right team in place to help to deliver this and we look forward to working with Atlas Retail.”
Atlas Retail is a standalone division of facilities services company Atlas FM, which is now 100 per cent employee owned. Atlas Retail employs over 750 staff across a shopping centre and retail park portfolio of over 50 locations.
