Daikin Applied (UK) targets flexible ventilation with new Vertical DX AHU

Daikin Applied (UK) has launched a floor-standing Vertical DX air handling unit (AHU) designed to simplify ventilation in large, complex buildings while supporting low-carbon operation.

Aimed at facilities managers responsible for large or complex buildings, the plug-and-play unit offers a decentralised approach to air treatment. By delivering conditioned air closer to occupied zones, it improves control, reduces energy losses and responds more effectively to changing occupancy.

The system integrates with Daikin VRV and ERA platforms and features a factory-installed direct-expansion (DX) kit, eliminating the need for secondary water circuits. This helps reduce installation complexity, footprint and energy use.

Its compact, floor-mounted design supports faster retrofit installation with minimal disruption, while BMS compatibility enables straightforward integration into existing building systems.

Daikin Applied says the unit offers a practical route to improving ventilation performance without major infrastructure changes.
