Gradus provides premium feel with enhanced safety for luxury homes

Contract interior specialist Gradus is supplying a range of its flooring accessories and barrier matting systems to Colindale Gardens, an ongoing development of luxury townhouses and apartments in north-west London.

Once completed, Colindale Gardens will consist of more than 2,900 new homes, as well as nine acres of greenspace, shops, cafes, a gym and a concierge service. The homes have been carefully designed to maximise space and flexibility, and the interiors are complemented by a stylish and high-quality specification.

James Holmear, Sales and Marketing Director at Redrow’s Greater London region, commented: “We wanted to create interior solutions that would reflect the luxury nature that Colindale Gardens offers and would also be hard-wearing and long-lasting for our customers. The solutions provided by Gradus not only fit with the premium feel of the development, but also provide a high level of safety for our residents and visitors.”

On the stairs inside the concierge building, as well as those leading down to the gym, Gradus aluminium XT stair edgings were specified to enhance the buildings’ safety and maintain a clean and contemporary aesthetic. Featuring a slip-resistant insert that extends around the leading edge of the profile, the XT range increases underfoot contact with the slip-resistant element of the stair edging to offer the ultimate solution for reducing slips, trips and falls on stairs.

Designed to create an elegant, luxurious appearance, Gradus Luxury Trim System (LTS) is installed in all apartments and the gym. Ideal for medium-traffic applications, the Gradus LTS range consists of solid brass tops available in six premium finishes, allowing you to choose a trim that blends in with the surrounding environment.

Ideal for use in interior locations that are subject to medium-to-heavy foot and wheeled traffic, primary barrier matting from the Esplanade range was chosen, with Esplanade 1500 at the front door to all the apartments and Esplanade 1000 in the main entrances to the apartment blocks and the concierge building. Both matting products help reduce the amount of tracked-in dirt and moisture and prolong the lifecycle of the surrounding floorcoverings. This helps to reduce the risk of slips and trips caused by wet flooring, keeping residents and building users safe.

“The products from Gradus are exactly what we were hoping for, and they look fantastic in the buildings,” continued Redrow’s James Holmear. “We’re really happy with the overall look and function.”

Darren Curtis, Accessories Area Sales Manager at Gradus, concludes: “The key with this project was to find a balance between style and practicality, using products that had a premium appearance while enhancing residents’ safety by recommending the best possible solution for their requirements.”
