infinitSpace launches in the Netherlands

Creator and provider of white-label flexible workspaces, infinitSpace, has signed a management agreement with Bryant Park Services B.V. (a fund affiliated with New York-based global asset manager Marathon Asset Management L.P), which will see the launch of a new state-of-the-art flexible workspace located in Marathon’s office tower Zuidtoren in Hoofddorp (near Amsterdam Schiphol Airport), opening in September 2023.

Zuidtoren is the tallest and most recognisable building in the area, designed by Kohn Pederson Fox Associates. It comprises 17,000 sq m of office space and has been extensively refurbished and repositioned over the past two years. Such works have improved the ESG credentials of the building and included a full renovation of the lobby, meeting rooms, restaurant and terrace, all lift lobbies and sanitary facilities. The building has received a BREEAM Excellent and A+++ energy label.

Located at Taurusavenue 1-41, Zuidtoren lies directly at Hoofddorp train station, connecting Hoofddorp with Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam Zuidas within a few minutes. The Asset Management mandate is held by BNP Paribas Real Estate Asset Management.

The project comes as demand for flexible workspace rises sharply among businesses globally, with the pandemic and high inflation accelerating this trend. The value of the global flexible workspace market is expected to grow from $33.23 billion in 2020 to $73.03 billion by 2026.

Co-founded by Wybo Wijnbergen, former WeWork MD of North and West Europe, and his brother, serial tech entrepreneur, Wilco Wijnbergen, infinitSpace has now entered a management agreement with Marathon to create the flexible workspace in Zuidtoren. infinitSpace will launch the new flexible workspace under the ‘beyond’ brand as ‘beyond Zuidtoren’.

infinitSpace will design the workspace and equip it with cutting-edge technology, including a branded app for flexible workspace members and long-term tenants. The company will be responsible for marketing the space, managing new memberships and overseeing the ongoing operations of the site.

After opening multiple flexible workspaces in Europe and the UAE, beyond Zuidtoren will mark infinitSpace’s first location in the Netherlands where its head office is also located.

Wybo Wijnbergen, CEO and Co-founder of infinitSpace said: “We are delighted to be working with Marathon Asset Management and BNP Paribas Real Estate on what is going to be an incredible new flexible workspace in the landmark Zuidtoren. Having successfully launched beyond Aldgate Tower and beyond Kingsbourne House over the past 15 months, this exciting new partnership will mark the first steps of the beyond brand outside of London; what better place to mark this new chapter than this building in the Amsterdam region.”

Jelle de Boer, Associate Director Asset Manager at BNP Paribas Real Estate, commented: “Flexible working is transforming business and, in infinitSpace, Marathon Asset Management has found the perfect partners to transform a part of the Zuidtoren and embrace this shift. We tend to always optimise the service level within Zuidtoren and, by being able to provide a flexible office product, we expect to see further success in this building. The infinitSpace team know how to create, manage, and operate flexible working spaces to maximise their potential and value for tenants. I look forward to seeing a fresh vision applied to the space – one that will bring new organisations into the building, bolstering the amazing community we have worked to develop.”
