International Workplace and DPD shortlisted for SHE Awards

International Workplace and DPD are delighted to announce they have been shortlisted for the prestigious SHE Awards, in the category of the Safer Logistics Award.

The award recognises the most impressive achievements in a safety campaign or project throughout the industry over the past 12 months, honouring the key individuals and teams involved, and the shortlisting is the culmination of a project in which 1,100 members of DPD’s management team underwent an intensive training programme in health and safety.

Over five months in 2022, DPD partnered with International Workplace to train over a thousand members of staff in an industry-accredited health and safety qualification, to demonstrate to its workers the importance of health and safety and to ensure the highest level of understanding and commitment.

Says Sally Harris, DPD’s Head of Health and Safety: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted alongside International Workplace for this award, which recognises the investment the business is making in our employees’ health and safety. The time and effort that has been put into understanding what we need has been fantastic, and it is this that has contributed to the success of such an ambitious programme.”

DPD’s Chief Operating Officer, Justin Pegg, adds: “I want our people to have access to the safest working environment possible and that’s why we’re investing time and money to make sure our people understand the part we all have to play in keeping everyone safe.”

David Sharp, International Workplace CEO, continues: “We’re thrilled to be nominated for the Safer Logistics Award alongside DPD, which highlights the hard work and dedication that has gone into this project from both sides. Our fantastic team of trainers have received the highest levels of praise from the employees that have undergone the courses and it is great that their success is being validated by this award shortlisting.”

The two companies have created a video to showcase the outcomes of the training programme. The SHE Awards take place on 26 April 2023 and we eagerly await the announcement of the winners!
