ISS wins FM healthcare deal in Croydon

Croydon Health Services NHS Trust has appointed ISS to deliver a range of FM services across eight sites for a five-year term.

The contract, which is valued at approximately £45 million over its duration, will see ISS take on around 300 staff providing cleaning, portering, pest control and window cleaning to the south London Trust.

ISS management on the contract will be responsible for driving service improvements, including the introduction of specialist service teams managing critical and fast-moving wards, such as the emergency and radiology departments.

ISS will also implement its innovative technology on the contract, which will include its award winning ServicePoint product and sensor technology to create a targeted cleaning approach.

Commenting on the new contract award, Donna Brown, Managing Director for Healthcare at ISS UK & Ireland, said: “We are delighted to be starting this new partnership with Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. As a market leader in the healthcare sector, I’m excited to see how we can use our broad experience and global expertise to find new ways of making the Trust even more efficient, creating positive environments for patients and visitors, as well as a safe and happy workplace for the Trust’s clinical staff.”

Matthew Kershaw, Chief Executive at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust said of ISS’ appointment: “We are looking forward to our new working partnership with ISS. Their experience in managing services that are vital for our patients and staff, along with their dedication to their employees, is welcomed, and we look forward to the expertise and innovation they will bring to our Trust.”

Navigating FM efforts to sustainability

As environmental protection demands unified action, transparency, and heightened awareness, Biological Preparations has launched an initiative to catalyse sustainability efforts within the FM sector.

FM businesses face unique challenges and heightened expectations of eco-initiatives from their clients. Yet, behind the scenes in FM businesses, many environmental initiatives, rollouts and even planning, are not broadcasted and transparent.
