Juniper Ventures, a community-rooted provider of catering, cleaning and health and safety services to schools and public buildings has been appointed as the new cleaning partner for 20 schools across Hackney.
The appointment marks a significant new partnership for its Juniper Bright cleaning service, which will support the schools with a consistent, high-quality cleaning service focused on safe, welcoming and well-maintained environments for pupils, staff and the wider school community.
From 1 August, Juniper Bright will begin delivering cleaning services across the 20 sites, working closely with each school to understand its buildings, routines and day-to-day priorities. The mobilisation process, commencing in June, will focus on continuity, clear communication and making sure cleaning teams have the right support, training and equipment in place from the start.
Commenting on the new contract award, Jhonny Lozada, Head of Cleaning Operations at Juniper Bright, said: “We are very pleased to be working with 20 schools across Hackney and to be trusted with such an important part of their day-to-day operations.
“Cleaning in schools is about much more than presentation. It is about safety, consistency, reliability and care. Our focus will be on working closely with each school, supporting our teams on the ground and making sure every site receives a service that reflects its individual needs.”
The tender feedback highlighted Juniper Bright’s practical understanding of school environments, from flexible cleaning schedules and site-specific mobilisation to safeguarding, health and safety and staff support. Juniper’s approach was also recognised for its Hackney-focused employment plans, commitment to the London Living Wage and proven ability to mobilise cleaning services across multiple school sites.
As part of the mobilisation, Juniper Bright will review existing cleaning schedules, site requirements, staffing arrangements and quality standards across each school. This will help ensure the service is shaped around how each building is used, from classrooms and corridors to toilets, halls, offices and shared spaces.
The new partnership also strengthens Juniper’s presence in East London, building on its experience of delivering catering, cleaning and health and safety services across schools and public buildings.
FM teams are having to manage more sites, contracts and client expectations with the same number of people. AI isn’t replacing those people: it’s absorbing the coordination overhead that was stealing their time.
On Tuesday 16 June at 11:00am, askporter and FMJ will be holding a webinar which brings together FM leaders who are already using this tech, to discuss what is changing, what is not, and how the future looks for teams that get this right.
