Linaker extends KFC partnership across UK and Ireland

Following a successful partnership with KFC’s equity business, which began in February 2022, national M&E specialist, Linaker has extended its contract with the increase of over 200 additional sites across the UK and Ireland for a three-year term.

The new deal, valued at £15 million per annum includes planned preventative maintenance and reactive call outs for KFC restaurants, drive-thrus and high street outlets, further enhanced by another £5 million project management facility. Linaker will continue with its core ethos of self- delivering all building maintenance and fire safety across the portfolio.

Linaker will manage 18 carefully selected key supply chain partners across all specialist delivery elements, which it will be expanding with the support of its industry-leading sub-contractor hub. The hub allows Linaker’s supply chain to work direct from Linaker’s systems in real time, ensuring enhanced accuracy, compliance and efficiency. Forming part of its pioneering technology-first approach, Linaker will extend this leading data-led method by implementing real-time budget management at an asset fault level, which will allow KFC to control site budgets from their own, bespoke order values from the very first moment of the call being placed via automated dynamic predictive job costs.

Charlene Willoughby at Yum! said: “Linaker has continued to deliver on its promise and commitment of second-to-none responsiveness and flexibility and we’re excited to extend and grow our business with them to maintain the highest level of service across our sites.”

Claire Curran, Managing Director at Linaker added: “From day one, KFC has been a fantastic partner, where our cultural and business visions have aligned. The growth of the portfolio means a great deal to us and is an acknowledgement of the hard work and time invested in the partnership. We can’t wait to continue what we started and more.”

Navigating FM efforts to sustainability

As environmental protection demands unified action, transparency, and heightened awareness, Biological Preparations has launched an initiative to catalyse sustainability efforts within the FM sector.

FM businesses face unique challenges and heightened expectations of eco-initiatives from their clients. Yet, behind the scenes in FM businesses, many environmental initiatives, rollouts and even planning, are not broadcasted and transparent.

Have your say: Sustainability Trends in FM

The UK biotech company’s five-minute, anonymous FM-focused survey, offers FM professionals of all hierarchies with a platform to voice their perspectives and share their experiences. The results from this survey will then be analysed and presented as an industry-specific report, which aims to guide FM businesses helping them benchmark trends, gain clarity on industry challenges, and map out goals and metrics towards sustainability.
