MoU to provide mutual benefits for IWFM and CICES

The Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) has revealed plans for closer ties with the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM).

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been drafted with the IWFM, the UK’s largest body for FM professionals, and will “provide the basis for further consultations, collaboration and information sharing between the two organisations”.

As a result, it will guide any joint actions in areas of common interest, including training, education, professional services and more.

Explaining the reason for the new partnership, CICES CEO Simon Hamlyn said: “This new MoU with the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management establishes a formal relationship between both our organisations.

“It provides a perfect platform for future collaboration on a range of mutually beneficial opportunities, such as professional development and policy initiatives.”

IWFM Chair Mark Whittaker commented: “Understanding and collaboration, between the CICES specialists that survey our civil structures and the IWFM professionals who super-connect those buildings and workplaces in operation, can only be a win in facing major challenges ahead.”
