Stefano Cabras has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer at specialist commercial cleaning firm, The Clean Space.
Cabras takes on his new role with immediate effect, as Founder Charlie Mowat moves from CEO to Chairman.
Cabras joined The Clean Space as Finance Director 15 years ago and has served as Managing Director for the past six years. In his new role, he will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the business, overseeing its operations, continued growth and long-term development.
During his time with the company, Cabras has played a central role in its growth into a national commercial cleaning business employing approximately 1,800 people, generating annual revenues of around £40 million and delivering services across more than 1,000 client sites.
A chartered accountant, Cabras has helped to strengthen The Clean Space’s financial, operational and strategic capabilities. He has also been closely involved in the company’s acquisition programme, which has seen it complete around 15 acquisitions to date alongside continued organic growth.
The Clean Space says his appointment reflects the continued development of the company’s senior leadership structure as the business enters its next phase.
Cabras said: “I am incredibly proud to take on the role of CEO. I have seen the business grow and evolve significantly but our commitment to our people, our clients and the quality of our service has remained constant.
“My focus will be on continuing to strengthen the business, supporting our teams and ensuring we maintain the culture and standards that have underpinned our growth. As Chairman, Mowat will remain involved in the strategic direction and wider development of the company, working closely with Cabras, the board and the senior leadership team.
Mowat commented: “Stefano has made an enormous contribution to the development of The Clean Space. His progression from Finance Director to Managing Director and now CEO reflects both his leadership and his deep understanding of the business.
“He understands our people, our clients, our culture and our ambitions and he is the right person to lead the company through its next phase.
“This is a natural evolution for The Clean Space. Moving into the Chairman role will allow me to focus on the longer-term direction of the business, while continuing to support Stefano and the wider leadership team. I am very proud of what we have built and excited about what comes next.”
