New head of data and intelligence at NHSPS

Richard Fitzsimmons has been appointed to the role of Head of Data and Intelligence at NHS Property services.

Data and technology specialist Fitzsimmons, who was appointed in 2019 as Operations Business Intelligence Lead at the government-owned property organisation, will now shape NHSPS’ data and intelligence strategy and promote the use of assured and quality analytics for data-driven decision making.

Fitzsimmons will work with customers and stakeholders from across the business to support and deliver on the data strategy, promoting the use of data for long-term decision making and implementing the building blocks to provide assurance and accuracy to customers and key stakeholders.

Prior to joining NHSPS he worked in similar roles at BT, Greencore, CBRE, and Carillion.

Commenting on Fitzsimmons appointment, Roslyn Churchill, Chief Information Officer for NHSPS, said: “Richard is an experienced leader in Data and Business Intelligence and is passionate about working to develop a data culture that drives strategies and improvement through data-driven decisions. I am looking forward to watching Richard flourish in his new senior leadership role, and seeing the amazing work that he and his team deliver.”

Fitzsimmons said: “We have the foundations to build something special, and I’m delighted to be a success story for NHSPS’ ‘get, keep, grow’ people culture.

“My team and I will support all functions across the business to ensure they have access to relevant data that is based on fact. This will promote informed decision making for the benefit of our customers, as we strive to embed ourselves as an extension of all functions within NHSPS.”
