New health, safety and environment director at Edwin James

Rollo Wood has been appointed Group Health, Safety and Environment Director at facilities engineering firm, Edwin James Group,

An experienced HSE professional, wood joins the company from Shell, where he was responsible for the HSE performance of Shell’s global retail service station network, which includes over 45,000 service stations in 80 countries.

The new role underlines the Group’s commitment to safety and sustainability. It will help drive the company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda and further develop the health and safety strategy.

Commenting on his new appointment, Wood said: “I’m joining Edwin James at an exciting time. The business has clear plans for growth, and I can see lots of opportunities for my role to play a key part in the next phase of development. I’m looking forward to working with the management and leadership teams across the group to further embed the right safety culture and drive forward the ESG agenda.”

Edwin James recently announced the largest investment in learning and development in its history. The Group launched a new EJ Academy programme of lifetime learning and opened a new training hub in Glasgow to support STEM careers from apprentice to director.
