BaxterStorey appoints Mark McCulloch as MD for Scotland

BaxterStorey has appointed Mark McCulloch as Managing Director for Scotland, a newly created role designed to support the hospitality company’s continued growth and expansion across the country.

McCulloch, who has been with BaxterStorey Scotland for 15 years, will lead the company’s Scottish operations with a focus on championing local supply chains, developing people and strengthening partnerships.

The role reflects the scale and success of the company’s operations north of the border, where BaxterStorey Scotland now employs more than 1,000 people and operates a £49 million business across sectors including business and industry, higher education and further education.

McCulloch began his career with BaxterStorey at the age of 24 and has progressed through several senior leadership roles, becoming Regional Director in 2025. During his time with the business, he has overseen a broad portfolio of partnerships and played a key role in shaping the company’s growth strategy in Scotland.

As MD for Scotland, he will focus on expanding BaxterStorey Scotland’s footprint while championing the country’s produce and food culture.

Commenting on his new role, McCulloch said: “Scotland has one of the best natural larders in the world and we’re incredibly proud to work with so many fantastic regional suppliers and food heroes. We want to continue further strengthening those partnerships while continuing to develop our people and deliver exceptional hospitality for our clients and customers.

“Having spent 15 years with BaxterStorey, the business is very much part of my DNA. I’ve been fortunate to grow my career here thanks to the support of great mentors and colleagues, and I’m excited to help lead the next chapter of our journey in Scotland.”

He added that the business will continue to explore opportunities in new markets while building on its strong presence across existing sectors.

Ronan Harte, CEO, BaxterStorey said: “The creation of the role reflects the importance of Scotland to the company’s wider UK growth strategy.

“Mark has been instrumental in the success of our operations in Scotland and truly champions our culture and values. Nurturing talent is a long-standing commitment at BaxterStorey and we’re proud to support colleagues as they progress their careers, bringing invaluable experience and insight with them. Mark’s understanding of the market, passion for Scottish produce and dedication to developing people position him strongly to lead our continued growth.”

FMJ and Watco Webinar: Meeting compliance in a new culture of accountability

From January 2026, the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) formally separated from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Created under the Building Safety Act 2022 in response to the Grenfell Tower tragedy, the BSR is designed to raise safety standards across the built environment and introduce a stronger culture of accountability, transparency, and proactive risk management.

This shift places facilities managers in a more strategic safety assurance role – far beyond routine maintenance.

FMJ and Watco are hosting a webinar on 22 April at 11:00am to explore what this new regulatory landscape means for FMs. To register for the webinar click here.
