Acquisition elevates Complii’s building compliance offering

Complii, a leading provider of building safety and regulatory compliance services in the UK has further strengthened its offering following its acquisition of Classic Lifts (Scotland) Limited.

The acquisition represents a significant milestone in Complii’s growth journey, introducing Lifts and Escalators as a dedicated new compliance service line within its expanding portfolio.

Based in Glasgow, Classic Lifts (Scotland) is a highly regarded specialist lift services provider, which has built a strong reputation over many years of delivering quality and reliability across planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, emergency call-outs, and modernisation and installation works.

The acquisition further enhances Complii’s position as one the UK’s most comprehensive building compliance partners. Building owners and managers can now access an even broader, more integrated suite of compliance services – spanning water, air, fire, electrical, and now lifts and escalators – through a single, trusted partner.

Sarah Dixon, CEO of Complii, described the acquisition as a natural fit on every level: “This acquisition is an important and exciting step for Complii. Classic Lifts (Scotland) brings exceptional expertise, a dedicated team, and a track record of quality that is entirely aligned with our values. We are growing with purpose, and this acquisition reinforces our commitment to being the most trusted and comprehensive partner in building compliance.”

Continuity of leadership and operational stability are central to the integration. Dave McColl, the former owner of Classic Lifts (Scotland), will remain with the business as Executive Director and will support the Group’s acquisition strategy within the Lifts and Escalators vertical. William Coleman, previously Operations Director, will step into the role of Managing Director, continuing to lead the business and maintain the high standards that customers have come to expect.

McColl welcomed the move, describing it as a fantastic opportunity for Classic Lifts (Scotland) and its team: “Joining Complii is a fantastic opportunity for our team. We have built our business on quality, trust, and a genuine commitment to our customers, and those values are something we share with Complii. Being part of a wider Group gives us access to greater resources and capability, while preserving the expertise and customer focus that has always defined us. We look forward to playing an important role in Complii’s growth and to continuing to deliver the excellent service our customers rely on.”

The acquisition builds on Complii’s ‘buy and build’ growth strategy and follows the recent launch of its dedicated Lifts and Escalators division.
