Artus Air solutions being installed in British Land’s new HQ to support sustainability ambitions

Artus Air heating and cooling solutions are being installed at British Land’s new London head office at 20 Triton Street, Regent’s Place, supporting the developer’s commitment to creating high-quality workplaces with significantly reduced carbon impact.

Developer British Land is renowned for building, owning and managing some of the UK’s most sustainable real estate. The redevelopment of 20 Triton Street demonstrates that commitment in action, delivering a modern workplace designed to minimise embodied and operational carbon while maximising comfort and usability for its colleagues.

Located within the Regent’s Place campus, the refurbished headquarters promises an adaptable, future-ready workspace where employee wellbeing, accessibility and environmental performance are central to the design.

A key objective of the project brief was to minimise both embodied and operational carbon while future-proofing the building for low carbon strategies. This included the use of water-based cooling and compatibility with heat pump systems to support long-term sustainability goals. Artus Air’s AR75 and AR60 solutions aligned closely with these requirements, making it a natural choice for the development.

Artus Air AR75 and AR60 units will be installed throughout the open plan workspaces, executive offices and meeting rooms across the two-floor 40,000 sq ft space. The system ensures consistent temperature control and thermal comfort in every area, creating a flexible environment that supports collaboration, productivity and day-to-day wellbeing for the British Land team.

The project also demonstrated strong collaboration between Artus Air and British Land from the earliest stages. Working closely with sustainability leads, technical specialists, designers and project delivery teams, the partnership helped shape design and installation decisions.

Resiliency and certainty were key to British Land’s procurement and supply chain strategies. By choosing the fully packaged comfort cooling solutions from Artus Air, the procurement journey was simplified and supply chain risk mitigated. Once on site, Artus units can be installed up to 75% faster* than traditional systems due to the compact, fully packaged form, removing the need for multiple ceiling components (typically) required in other installations.

Early and ongoing collaboration ensured that sustainability ambitions could be balanced with practical design requirements to deliver a comfort-led workplace with high aesthetic quality through compact and attractive heating and cooling design integrations.

Antone Husbands, Head of Specification at Artus Air commented: “Our approach is collaborative from day one and this project is a great example of that. The fundamental design of Artus Air’s solutions reduces embodied and whole-life carbon and enhance occupant comfort through patented airflow design: key factors in our selection on this outstanding redevelopment.”

Husbands continues: “British Land is committed to delivering against its sustainability ambitions, and Artus Air’s solutions are supporting those goals at 20 Triton Street. By working closely with the project team from the outset, we were able to support both the sustainability ambitions, reduction on operational carbon and the creation of a beautifully designed workspace that is comfortable, welcoming and future-ready.”
