Inter County Service Group Ltd based in Rushden has announced its merger with Corby-based commercial cleaning specialist Clean4Shaw Facilities Management.

Founded in 2012 by Lee Shaw, Clean4Shaw Facilities Management has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality cleaning services across the East Midlands region. Under the terms of the merger, Clean4Shaw Facilities Management will retain its established brand identity while becoming part of the wider Inter County Service Group, which encompasses four core business areas – commercial cleaning, waste management, washroom hygiene services, and janitorial cleaning supplies.

The deal will see all 147 Clean4Shaw Facilities Management employees retained, increasing Inter County Service Group’s total workforce to just over 400 members of staff.

Shaw said: “This was not a decision we took lightly. Clean4Shaw Facilities Management has been a huge part of our lives, but as we look to focus on our other business interests, we wanted to ensure the company, our staff and our clients were in safe hands. Inter County Service Group stood out to us as a family-run business that shares our values, and we’re confident this is the right next step for everyone involved.”

Shaw and his wife Natalie, who both played key roles in the business, will step away following the merger. However, Director Steve Walton and his wife Lucy will remain with the company, ensuring continuity in leadership and operations.

Walton said: “I am excited to be joining the Inter County Service Group at such a pivotal moment. This merger brings together complementary strengths, shared values and a clear ambition for growth.

“I am particularly looking forward to working with talented colleagues across the business to build on this strong foundation and continue to deliver exceptional service to our clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of Clean4Shaw Facilities Management and I’m proud to be part of the journey.”

Callum Nicholson, Finance Director at Inter County Service Group, said: “This merger strengthens our presence in the East Midlands region and aligns perfectly with our values as a family-run organisation. Most importantly, we’re pleased to be able to provide stability and continued employment for all staff while maintaining the high level of service Clean4Shaw Facilities Management clients expect. All 198 clients of Clean4Shaw Facilities Management should see no disruption, with the same friendly and professional cleaning teams continuing to deliver services as usual.

“This deal represents a strategic step forward for Inter County Service Group as we continues to grow while maintaining our commitment to quality, people and long-term client relationships.”

FMJ and Watco Webinar: Meeting compliance in a new culture of accountability

From January 2026, the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) formally separated from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Created under the Building Safety Act 2022 in response to the Grenfell Tower tragedy, the BSR is designed to raise safety standards across the built environment and introduce a stronger culture of accountability, transparency, and proactive risk management.

This shift places facilities managers in a more strategic safety assurance role – far beyond routine maintenance.

FMJ and Watco are hosting a webinar on 22 April at 11:00am to explore what this new regulatory landscape means for FMs. To register for the webinar click here.
