Corps commits to the new Living Wage and unveils new customer support campaign to help with rising costs

Corps Security has announced that it will remain committed to paying its staff and encouraging customers to pay the Living Wage following the news that the real Living Wage will increase by a record 10.9 per cent to £10.90 (£11.95 in London).

Corps is a Recognised Service Provider with the Living Wage Foundation – this means all directly employed colleagues are paid the Living Wage, and the company actively encourages and promotes that contract staff, across multiple locations across the UK, are paid the same.

Just over 87 per cent of the three thousand plus Corps colleagues are now in receipt of the Living Wage – with the company saying it is driven to work with customers to get this to 100 per cent as soon as possible.

Mike Bullock, CEO of Corps Security and Co-Chair at the Living Wage Foundation, commented: “At Corps we believe that paying the real Living Wage is the right thing to do for our colleagues. Of course, we are aware of the impact this will have on businesses; we will be feeling the effects of this too. But many of our site-based colleagues see increasing costs in their own lives, so it is about balance. How do we continue to support colleagues with the real living wage increase whilst not putting too much pressure on the business’s finances? That is the challenge we all face now.”

Corps has also announced that it will launch a new customer and industry-focused campaign to support businesses with rising costs. The new campaign, which will be supported with social media, media engagement, tips, guidance and advice blogs and customer activities, will be introduced in October 2022.

Mark Rogers, Executive Director and Social Enterprise Champion at Corps Security, said: “With the ever-increasing costs to our businesses, we are acutely aware of the impact on our customers and contacts across the industry. Our announcement that we will launch our customer support programme means that we are here for our customers. We will provide professional solutions to navigate the increasing costs, such as the introduction of new technologies, efficiency reviews, one on one consultations, and such, to see how we can make positive changes to improve the bottom line whilst ensuring our colleagues can continue to get the wage they deserve.”

Creating a positive visitor experience in a Hybrid world of work

While some personnel are finally returning to the office – the great majority of organisations (up to 83 per cent) anticipate a hybrid mix of on-premises and working from home to continue for the foreseeable future.

This means that when it comes to providing access to the workplace, where once it was simply enough to maintain a welcoming reception for visitors, organisations today must also keep a close eye on access permissions in real-time to keep buildings safe and secure while ensuring they comply with compliance.

Pitney Bowes Smart Access Management in association with FMJ has produced a new White Paper which explains how to create a welcoming, actively managed environment for authorised people.

It explains how new Smart Access Management™ (SAM) delivers a complete, real-time and data-driven view of all your people, visitors and contractors, to help give you greater control and visibility.
