‘Lunch at Work’ podcast launched by BM

Workplace catering firm, BM, has launched ‘Lunch at Work’ – a podcast providing practical advice for businesses to improve their workplace environments.

Aiming to showcase innovative and creative solutions for workplace challenges, such as improving employee satisfaction, boosting productivity, and reducing costs, the podcasts will see joint MDs Angus Brydon and Antony Prentice interviewing innovators and disruptors, experts in related fields, industry thought leaders and inspirational businesspeople.

The first episode of the podcast has gone live today and features former professional cricketer Neil MacLaurin discussing how lessons from the sports dressing room can translate to the board room.

Initially one podcast will be published each month. Future episodes already lined up include interviews with Change and Transformation Director and Global SVP of business services company Experian Ian Kennedy and Environmental Entrepreneur Mark Jankovich, founder and CEO of Delphis Eco cleaning products.

Also appearing on the podcast will be Lucy Jeynes, voted one of the 20 Most Influential Women in facilities management and founder of the Women in FM network; and Vanessa King, Board Member of charity Action for Happiness and an expert in the practical application of the psychology of wellbeing and resilience in organisations.

Speaking about the new ‘Lunch at Work’ podcast, Prentice said: “Working behind the scenes at so many top organisations, we’ve gleaned some amazing insights from some of the business world’s top professionals over the years.

“With everyone looking at how they can better attract, retain and develop their people, we thought we’d share some of those insights to help support directors and managers from any sector to improve and cultivate a positive workplace culture.”

The podcast will be available to view on YouTube and across all major podcast platforms and is being produced by Michaela Mulvey, BM’s Digital Marketing Manager.

Metro Rod Drainage and Plumbing Survey

With the current economic crisis resulting in higher prices and more of a squeeze on resources, FMs need to ensure that they have robust building and maintenance services in place to control costs and reduce the need for emergency repairs. When it comes to drainage and plumbing there are also the challenges of dealing with extreme weather, from droughts to flooding, the need to meet stringent regulations and to avoid causing environmental damage.

UK drainage specialist, Metro Rod, has launched a survey which explores the main areas of interest for FMs in maintaining drainage and plumbing, including how they currently assess their supply chains to ensure they’re working with partners that meet the highest possible standards and provide value for money.

The results will be published online so that you can see how you compare to others within the sector.

The survey should take just 5-10 minutes of your time, and as a thank you, you will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky winner will be picked at random to receive a £100 Amazon voucher.
